The four regions to know: Penedès (Barcelona area, cava country), Rioja (northern Spain, big reds), Ribera del Duero (Madrid-adjacent, structured tempranillos) and Priorat (Catalonia, cult wines, small production). Each has multiple bodegas set up for weddings. Penedès is easiest for international guests because of BCN airport.
The best months are the shoulders: late May and early June when the vines are green and leafy, then September and October during harvest when the whole property is in motion and the light turns golden. July and August work but the vines lose their photogenic edge as summer bakes in.
One thing bodega weddings do better than any other venue: the wine list. The venue is literally the winemaker, tastings are baked into welcome events, and pairings become part of the story instead of a menu decision. If you or the wedding party care about wine, this is where the day becomes memorable.
